This Privacy Policy explains how Raksha PDF ("the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use the app. Raksha PDF is a PDF productivity app for Android that helps you scan paper documents, create PDF files, read and edit PDF pages, organise documents, convert file formats, and protect supported PDFs with a password. No account or sign-in is required to use the app.
The documents, images, scans and PDF text you work with in the app are processed on your device. This content is not uploaded to, or stored on, any server operated by the Raksha PDF developer. Files you create or edit stay on your device unless you choose to share, export, or back them up yourself using your device's sharing or cloud storage features.
The app stores your documents, app preferences (such as theme and default settings), and temporary working files locally on your device's storage. This information remains under your control and can be removed by deleting the relevant files or uninstalling the app.
Certain features, such as text scanning (OCR) and document detection, use Google ML Kit components. These components may download the machine-learning models required to run on your device and may collect limited diagnostic or app-performance information, as described in Google's own privacy documentation. Google Play Services may also collect standard device and diagnostic information used to keep the app running reliably.
The translation feature is powered by Google Translate. Text you choose to translate is sent to Google's translation service to produce the result. Use of this feature is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google Translate's terms.
Raksha PDF does not require you to create an account or sign in. The app displays advertisements served through Google AdMob to support free access to the app's features. AdMob may use device and advertising identifiers to show ads and measure their performance, in accordance with Google's advertising policies. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
When you choose to share, export, print, or upload a file from within the app (for example, to email, messaging apps, or cloud storage), that action is initiated by you and is governed by the privacy policy of the destination app or service you select.
The app may request permissions such as camera access (to scan documents), storage or media access (to open, save, and manage your PDF and image files), and, where applicable, notification access. Each permission is used only to provide the related feature and can be reviewed or revoked at any time from your device's app settings.
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed by the app, including performing sensitive operations such as OCR and file editing entirely on-device rather than on a remote server. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Because Raksha PDF does not require an account and processes files on-device, your content is retained only for as long as you keep it on your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage from your device settings, removes the app's locally stored data.
Raksha PDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or applicable law. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
